Coast Academy of Jiu-Jitsu — Membership Agreement
Member: {name}
Date signed: {sign_date}
This agreement sets out the terms of your membership with Coast Academy of Jiu-Jitsu, 800 Torrance Blvd #104, Redondo Beach, CA 90277. Please read it carefully before signing. Your training waiver is a separate document.
1. Membership and billing
Your membership is month-to-month. Your membership fee is charged automatically each month to the payment method on file, at the rate of the membership plan you selected, until your membership ends under the cancellation policy below.
2. Program access
Each membership covers classes in the program it was purchased for. For example, a Coast Foundations membership covers Coast Foundations classes. Training in an additional program requires a separate membership.
3. Missed or failed payments
If a payment doesn't go through, please update your payment method in your member account as soon as possible. Any unpaid balance must be settled before you can attend class. You are responsible for keeping a valid payment method on file.
4. Membership freezes
If you need a break for an injury, medical reason, or travel, you can freeze your membership instead of canceling. Freezes are available for 1 to 2 months at a time, up to 2 months per year. Billing is paused during a freeze at no charge, and your membership resumes automatically when the freeze ends. To request a freeze, contact us before your next billing date. Freezes are not available for Founders Club memberships: to keep the Founders Club rate, your membership must stay active and paid every month. In the case of a serious medical issue, Coast Academy may, at its sole discretion, approve a temporary medical hold for a Founders Club membership.
5. Cancellation policy
Regular memberships: You may cancel at any time with at least 60 days' notice. There is no fee when you complete your 60-day notice period. If you would like your membership to end immediately instead of completing your notice period, a one-time early-termination fee of $450 applies.
Founders Club memberships: If you joined the Founders Club on or before September 17, 2026, your Founders Club rate of $200/month is locked in for as long as your membership remains continuously active. If you joined after September 17, 2026, the Founders Club rate of $200/month runs for 12 months, from November 1, 2026 through October 31, 2027, as long as your membership remains continuously active; after those 12 months, your membership continues month-to-month at the current regular rate, and the regular membership terms in this agreement apply, including the cancellation policy above. While you are on the Founders Club rate, you may cancel at any time, with no notice period and no cancellation fee, and your membership ends at the end of your current paid billing period. Once a Founders Club membership is canceled, the founding rate is gone for good and cannot be reinstated, and any future membership will be at the current regular rate.
How to cancel: Submit a cancellation request through your Coast Academy member account, or email info@coastacademyjiujitsu.com. For regular memberships, your 60-day notice period begins on the date we receive your request.
During your notice period (regular memberships): Your membership stays active. You may keep attending classes, and your regular payments continue through the end of the notice period. Your membership ends on the last day of the notice period, with no further charges after that.
Payments already made are non-refundable, and partial months are not prorated.
6. Conduct and hygiene
Coast Academy is built on respect, safety, and control. Train with care for your partners, follow your instructor's directions, and leave ego at the door. To keep everyone healthy, come to class in clean training clothes, keep your nails trimmed, and stay home if you're sick or have any skin condition or open wound. Coast Academy may suspend or end a membership, without refund, for unsafe, disrespectful, or inappropriate behavior.
7. Kids memberships
For students under 18, a parent or guardian must sign this agreement and the waiver. Please drop off and pick up your child on time. Students should not be left at the academy unsupervised before or after their class. A parent or guardian is responsible for the membership and all payments.
8. Class schedule and closures
We may adjust the class schedule, cancel classes for holidays or emergencies, or close for short periods when needed. We'll give as much notice as we can. Occasional schedule changes or closures do not result in refunds or prorated charges.
